FRENCH CLASSES FOR NEWCOMERS TO CANADA (CLIC)

CLIC is a program that provides structured French-language training in four skills:

  • Reading
  • Writing
  • Listening
  • Speaking

Funded by Immigration Refugee and Citizenship Canada, this cost-free program for newcomers allows learners to acquire these French-language skills through various learning activities such as writing, reading, listening, discussion, presentation, excursions and volunteer work. The goal is to enable them to get to know their community environment and to offer themselves essential services in areas such as health, banking, security, education and job search.

Collège Mathieu offers levels 1 to 4 courses based on the National Standards for the Measurement and Recognition of Canadian Language Benchmarks (CLB).
